Week 8 - Presentation Preparation

In this week we discussed and prepare for proposal presentation next week during the class time. Our team need to propose an microcontroller to replace PLC in industry based on project brief given. The microcontroller must be based on embedded system.            First part of discussion, we brainstorm to come out an idea regarding the PLC issues in industry. Our team agree to propose a replacement of the PLC use in conveyor system in industry.          Second part of discussion, we divide the task for the presentation. Each of team member have they on part to present and prepare the slides. Conclusion: The Proposal Presentation need to have 10 slides and the presentation must not more than 20 minutes based on presentation guidelines that been given in Microsoft Team

Week 7 - Model-Based Systems Engineering

For this week, we were given a task to complete a tutorial on  CE BJT small-signal amplifier. The tutorial is divided into 3 steps. Step 1 is to calculate the dc and ac characteristics of the amplifier in the figure given. Step 2 is to produce an alternative analog design, using op-amps as a solution. For the final step, we do not have to do it yet.           For step 1, we did simulation using multisim software and compare the result with our calculation. Below shows the calculation and simulation result.                    Simulation result for dc characteristics:                    Calculation for dc characteristics:                                                  Calculation for ac characteristic:               For step 2, we discuss to produce the alternate analog design of step 1 using op-amp. Below shows the circuit, wave, and values that are obtained.               Original:                                V CEQ          Modified circuit:      V CEQ Conclusion:

Week 6 : Preparing for the proposal presentation.

Sir Zaki is advising us to get ready for the logbook from week 3 till this week means week 6. We also to be ready the proposal presentation on Week 8. The presentation is about a project that we should apply to transform plc to the next level. Based on the tutorial given by Sir Zaki to us some extent can help us develop ideas in the field of innovation related to ‘PLC Replacement’. Week after week we also improve how system engineering is implemented based on the tutorial that we have received.   For example, we have done that PLC could reduce the human power for making roselle jam and syrup. We would implement the idea as to how open source innovation and extensible software can be 'PLC replacement.' This shows that the criteria that must be present in the project can be met with the weekly tutorials that have been given.

Week 5: Tutorial Scenario Roselle

For this week, Sir Zaki ask us to watch the previous video on YouTube of a process on making roselle jam and syrup. For this time, we were given tutorial to make the improvement to the previous context diagram. The previous context diagram shows the process of every details of using human power and effort. Below shown the previous context diagram produced.                                     The second task is making improvement for the context diagram which is implement using PLC. This PLC could reduce the human power for making roselle jam and syrup. It gives more convenient to entrepreneurs produce the roselle jam and syrup. Below shown the improvement context diagram produced.                   Next, the third task is making innovation of existing of automation roselle jam and syrup. Firstly, open source and extensible software. The software is published as open-source tools, available for extension by experienced programmers.  Beside that, open source and extensibl

Week 4: Project Brief Tutorial

Image
For week 4, we are doing tutorial exercises that have been give by Sir Zaki. The tutorial come with two videos about system engineering that can help us to answer the tutorial that consist of two part.           First part of the exercises is an individual work that each of the students need to describe Systems Engineering in our own words based on the video.         Second part of the exercises is a group work, to refer to project brief and second video to research and develop a product that can replace a PLC in the industry.

Week 3: Tutorial Scenario Roselle

For this week, Sir Zaki gave us to see a video of a process on making roselle jam and syrup. From that video, we were given tutorial to make a context diagram, flowchart and block diagram based on the process of making the roselle jam and syrup. First, a context diagram, sometimes called a level 0 data-flow diagram, is drawn to define and clarify the boundaries of the software system. It identifies the flows of information between the system and external entities. The entire software system is shown as a single process. We produced a context diagram containing data, signals, materials, energy and activities. Below shown is the context diagram produced.   Next, a flowchart is simply a graphical representation of steps. It shows steps in sequential order and is widely used in presenting the flow of algorithms, workflow or processes. Typically, a flowchart shows the steps as boxes of various kinds, and their order by connecting them with arrows. We were assigned to produce a flowc
